Granny showed me that article in the paper while we were having a cup of coffee this morning. I have heard of them but this is the first pic I`ve seen. Shame he had to put it down.

Not so long ago seeing any coon was kinda rare. Now they are showing up in cities. I've seen more in the past 5 years than I have in a lifetime combined.

A coon can take out a corn patch in a night easily or rather likely several. When mom and dad had a garden we put an electric fence around it.

Yea, my neighbor caught several and released them out in the woods. Also a full grown coon can whip most dogs.

You ain't a kidding. The beagle that hung around the hollow for years got chewed up real bad by one.

They will also take to water and drown a dog too.

For it's size it's about the most vicious of small game around here. I have a real healthy respect for them. They also seem to be the quickest to loose fear of humans.

Yea. At one time we had well over a dozen. We also had a skylight in the kitchen. The cats would get on the roof and look in. We called it the drive thru window LOL. A guy I know on line lives on the Outer Banks of NC. He has Cotton Mouths and Copperheads in his area. He also has cats and a lot fewer snakes than others.
