Here's some pictures I took this past Monday. Bear Hole Bend is basically a deep gorge on Norris Lake and likely the deepest part of the lake about 19 miles upstream from the Dam on the Clinch River side. It runs through the northern side of Upper Loyston Sea. I've hit water 200 feet deep in that area with a depth finder before. We entered from the upstream side. The bend circles around two islands {Wood Duck and Bear Island with Bear Island being in the bend itself. On the other side of the lake or bend is Chuck Swan WMA. From the pictures it's hard to tell but these are very steep bluffs. I'll post about 5-6 pictures one at a time due to my connection restraints. Wood Duck Island is Left and Bear Island is to the Right of the opening. The channel circles these islands on one side of the bend and the higher bluffs on Chuck Swam WMA on the other side.

This is the back side of the first picture. Bear Island is on the Left and Wood Duck is on the right. It's dark because a storm was coming in. That's the last of the pictures for this.

I knows that area. Been thar at least once. I've been going there ever since I could crawl. It's my old stomping grounds. Somewhere off Bear Island in about 175 feet of water is a new rod , reel, and lure, thats never been cast.

Norris lake is the prettiest lake in this area. Yea it really is or at least to me anyway. I got a few more pictures I might post tomorrow like Big Bird and maybe even U.B. Ugly, possibly a Caretaker, and an I.B. Ugly also.
