I guess the economy is hittin every where. Looks like private pond owners gonna have to buy from hatcheries.

Yep. Really private ponds are to TWRA's advantage in many ways though. They help keep a consistent flow on creeks where springs are used to fill ponds, they give game like ducks and deer water sources, and they act as filters for springs feeding creeks. IOW they help water quality. The creek below me would be dried up probably without ponds. Once ponds were build the creek weathered dry spells better.

Yea, I like private ponds as they keep livestock off creek banks and help control erosion.

Still some of the biggest bass have been taken out farm ponds.

LOL and pay no attention to his concealed carry either. We could fish the one below my place at the old cabin but I doubt anythings in it anymore. It was silting in last time I looked.
