I think we ended up with close to 3 inches in 24 hours. It hit here about 1:30am. Sounded like a train coming through. The second wave hit about 5:00aqm I guess about as hard as the first one and a lot more rain. I looked around today and it surprised me there was no damage. We about lost power several times though so I hooked up the back up power and had it on just in case.

Had plenty of wind last night. Sounded like a bunch of jets flyin over and trains comin through. No damage that I could see. I did hear that some areas did loose power. Did you hook up the generator?

Nah I used the inverter. I set up the inverter and have it ready to start before the storms hit if I know they're coming. I leave things like that till the lights flicker or power goes out. After I get some lights on then I'll start the generator and conserve the batteries for later use. The generator would take me about 5 minutes to lift the cover off and fire it up run cords etc. Inverter takes less than a minute to set up and once set up a couple seconds to turn on.

Nice to have back up plans. That generator would run most anything.

Yea it will definitely work for all I'd need it for. In a real pinch I could even rig it up to my well. Unless it's a major disaster my power would be back on by 24 hours. I'm going to try and get a gas heater in a year or so too.

We had 4 Amish Children drowned and swept away in the flash flooding about 15 miles from here as the crow flies. Their buggy was swept away after thay had to leave their home because it was flooding!! It's pretty sad!!

I topped off the batteries last night. If it hits day time all I'll need it for is the laptop. I wasn't expecting the rain today though. I woke up to go walking and it was raining so I did the only reasonable thing I could. I went back to bed.
