ib spotted this doe that had been hit by an automobile at the intersection of his road. We stopped and checked her and she wasn`t stiff so we loaded he up and called TWRA. They thanked us and told us we could take her to a processor without it counting. We took her up on the ridge and ib started to field dress her. Unfortunately she was damaged in side and the meat was not salvageable. Anyway y`all know what ib looks like now.

To bad the meat wasn't any good as I hate to see it go to waste. We had a small dead doe on the side of the road by me this week but it laid there for three days before the county picked it up.

That's sad, to many people going hungry in this country, for a doe, or any deer to lay on the side of the road. The law should load it up upon 1st sight for inspection, for salvage if possible. We had 2 large doe's lay on a bypass 4 lane in our town of Fulton, and the police patrol, along with the State Troopers, so there was no excuse for the laying there for more than 6 weeks now. Randy

Don't you call me Santa any more You old goat, you look a lot more like him, and can even fit in one of them store bought santa suits. I'd have to go to Louisville tent and awning to have one made for me. I'm glad y'all try to salvage her!! Randy ;D ;D

LOL In the nursing home a patient grabbed my beard and yelled It's Santa. That was 15 years ago. She's also tell me to go hitch up the mule to the wagon too.

I had a doe to die beside my driveway a couple years ago likely from drought related heat stress. TWRA wouldn't touch her. Used to be you had better not touch her till they arrived. I ended up burying her after several phone calls. This is TWRA's reasoning these days. Don't clean your fish in a lake or river because of complaints of stinking fish heads. But if a deer drops dead on your property Oh well that's your problem not ours so they tell me.

They don't have the manpower to cover the whole area they are given, is what we're told!

Nope more like Gabby Johnson the character played in Blazing Saddles. That character was a parody of Gabby Hayes.
