Argued with a few around trail shelters once or twice trying to bluff a meal. Had a secure place to go into in case it didn't work though.

Yea I`ve had them climb trees and hang by their teeth trying to get to food in a bag hung from a limb. Also seen what they can do to a metal food storage drum.

Well first thing I'd do if a bear was around was check the trees for Cubs. I still remember a guy my dad and I hiked with when I was a teenager. He was throwing rocks at a bear trying to get it to leave and was laughing saying look at the stupid old Boar. He changed his tune and ways real fast when two cubs came down the tree.
