The really do need to open the park to bear & hog hunting. The bear and hogs don't have any natural enemies there to counter the balance.

Even draw managed hunts would help. A balance much like other animals can be met. It will take time and adjustment.

Before the park was formed bears were hunted there and still thrived. If people saw pictures of the park at the time it was formed they wouldn't believe what they were looking at.

Yea I know. Much has changed: example Cades Cove. A lot of the Smokies Park is now a ride through senic attraction for even people in Tn. Many have no idea what it is to hike and camp the trails.

The trails most of them anyway are old narrow gauge railroad beds used for logging.. There was a piece of rail we used over in Eagle creek to cook on..
