I wouldn't want to be within miles of it if it caught fire without an air pack. On the other hand they might make decent flatwater canoes.

Be fine on a boat you can safely ditch real fast. On the seas if it catches fire look out. The toxins from the fire would turn off your lights real quick. They'd be in for some rough water down there. It's mid winter.

I never sailed the Pacific just the North and South Atlantic and MED SEA.

Seas in the Pacific have longer waves from what I hear. Atlantic waves are shorter. Seen 30 footers in the North Atlantic though. The Tin Cans escorting us would disappear then come back up.
