There's a small apt complex out in the county that got flooded out and was deserted last year.
I ride through every sheriff dept shift and look around they have ripped out all the copper and I expect to find a body dumped there one day.
There are about 10 hens and 2 big old Toms that are always standing in the middle of the road. The Toms will strut and fan out their tails before walking into the woods. They must have a 4 finger length beard on them.
It's funny it doesn't take long for man to leave and the animals to move back in.

Some of my family lived on or near Chuck Swan before the lake was built. My grandmother could point out where people lived on trips we'd take her on up there. Most people moved out in the early 1930's by the early 1960's you had to look for house sites. Same thing with the Company Coal Towns. You can't tell they ever existed unless you either look for house foundation signs like stacked rocks or flowers. Nature reclaims very, very, fast what is abandoned.

Yea, I`ve been up to sharp`s Chapel and walked around where dad grew up and we were unable to find foundations. We also looked for two wells that dad said were there but could not find them.

Look close to where the house was maybe 5-10 ft back from the foundation. Most cisterns were filled by rain water off the houses. If it was a cistern there is a brick or concrete round wall at the top too.

We did not find the foundation. We did find sections of the old roads in different areas.

If it's not covered by water this is the time to find it. Look for domestic flowers believe it or not.

Only time you can get to it is when the lake is down unless you have a boat.

How about a large inner tube and a pair of flippers?
