We have had three days of major storms here in our area and we must have had at least 5 inches of rain. There were tornados in Arkansas but none were very close to my house. The crazy thing is they are forcasting another week of stormy weather. It sure kills the fishing and motorcycle riding.

The weather is more typical here then what it's been the past few years. Lot's of pop up storms including a bad one yesterday evening. Strange thing was out power went off four hours after it passed. The utility company must have been doing something because by the time I got all the lights on from my back up power they power came back on. It was a weird storm though straight out of the east.

We got hammered again last night and had two funnel clouds pasts right over the house while we took shelter in the middle of the house away from windows. It must have rained another 3 inches last night so this crap needs to end.

I agree. Can not even think about getting anything put in the garden. Not been turkey hunting but twice. The days I could go it poured the rain.

I feel sorry for the ones in Bama and Georgia. The Bama tornado was a monster.

Six states with almost, or more than 300 deaths!! It's getting scary weather wise. We had numerous tornado warnings in the last 5 days. May is usually a lot worse than April in these parts. I hope the jet stream changes directions and gives us a break!! I'm thinking about a storm shelter as soon as I get my money from the settlement.

The number of actual tornado's likely averages out. The thing of it is when we were growing up tornado warnings came solely via someone spotting on touching down. Now they can watch the cell forming up and see the rotation on radar long before they hit ground. Most tornado's never actually touch down but the warning has to be issued if the rotation is seen on radar, a funnel cloud seen by spotters, or emergency agency reports. The weather spotters generally use HAM Radio and are in contact with NOAA. I've heard warnings go out over the scanner a minute or two before NOAA radio activated a warning.
For the south this was about a once every 30 year tornado. 1974 had some just as bad in the south. That night one tornado formed on Chuck Swan WMA and stayed on the ground over 15 miles crossing ridges. This wasn't a populated area though.

I survived! Mike went to pick up Greg at the airport and ran into a hail storm. he texted me as it happened and said the hail had cracked the windshield and back glass of his wife`s 2007 Taurus. Later he said they got hit again and said the car looked like moon craters. Talked to him again and he said the adjuster was going to total it at $8300.
