If you hunt squirrels you can sell the tails to Mepps for cash or trade for double the price in Mepps spinners. It is a great way to use the tails after you have the squirrels for lunch. Mepps encourages hunters to send tails of squirrels hunted for food and does not want you to shoot squirrels just for the tails. Many other materials have been tried for spinner dressing, but squirrel tails have proved to be the best. Recycle the tails of any squirrels you kill. You can get more information on this program at www.mepps.com/squirrels or you can call 800-713-3474.

I took my grandson once last year, and saw one in a gnawed out knot hole, and just poked his head and made fun of us!! I'm going to take him to the lease since it has 30 acres of solid heavy woods on it. I don't hunt till the leaves are off, and them ol skitters are gone. At much meat left on them ol tree rats after I shoot them with my 7mm rem mag, or my SKS. I need to get a good 22. I used my son in laws, that he's done some trigger work on, and it's to dangerous. I can get my son's 22 single shot 22, that is very old. his Gran-daddy gave it to him last year. Randy

I don't care to eat them. Like trying to chew an old shoe. Got plenty around this year though.

I ain't ate one since I ate them at my Grandma's when I was 16 or 17 years old. Grandma and my granny could make any kind of wildlife taste good. I ain't that sure my wife could though, my wife does a great job on venison. Randy
