Thanks for the invite Randy. I already know some of the guys here. Look forward to getting to know everyone here better. I've been having a tough go of it lately. I'm 48 and have uncontrolled hip/back/leg pain. Live on pain pills and spend about 23 hours a day in bed for the last couple of years. Doctor just told me to apply for SS Disability. I only got to hunt opening day last deer season. I really paid for that one trip to the woods even though I did get a nice 9 pt. Don't know what this deer season holds for me, but I'm hoping to be able to hunt a little. I always looked forward to retiring and hunting and fishing a lot, but that dream is almost gone now. Depression has really become a problem as I'm sure many of you are aware. So it's good to be here and be able to discuss things that other guys will have a better understanding of. Bob

I for one can definitely identify with most of your issues, I have 5 blown and herniated disc in my back, 2 in the lumbar, L3 and L4, 1 is T12, and the other two are C4 and C5, I also have narrowing of the spinal column, and Severe Degenerative Disc Disease. These are not what disabled me. I had a left WC knee surgery that was the straw that broke the camels back, and my Orthopedic Dr. Disabled me on 2/28/06, I also have both Knees and Both shoulders that are at endstage degenerative joint disease, and all need to be replaced. My back I didn't find out about until I had been disabled about a year. My neck, and lower back always bothered me at work, I just thought it was strain, as I drove a towing truck in Goodyear Tire Co at Union City Tn. I towed tires across uneven concrete, and the wheels on the tow trucks was solid rubber, and jarred the living daylights ot of your whole body. I went to my Fam Dr. and he ordered xrays, and sent me to have a MRI, and it showed what he thought. He finally seen the amount of pain I must be in and prescribed stronger pain pills, which I to live on, and control my life. about February of last year, I went into depression, I stopped going on internet forums which was a big part of my life after disability, and I was hurting even worse, much worse than normal. I went to my Dr, and he saw I was miserable and upped my pain meds, and put me on Cymbalta for depression. It was also prescribed because I'm a Type 2 Diabetic under control with meds, but still having Diabetic Neuropathy pain in my foot and in the side of my calf. I'm a tough cookie, but all this along with High blood pressure, sleep apnea, restless leg syndrome, Periodic limb movement and Familial Tremors. Put me in a tail spin. My Lumbar started shooting pain into my right hip, and right rear leg, I was on a borrowed T.E.N.S. unit, and running it full blast trying to numb the pain, It didn't hurt to bad in bed or in my Big Man Lazy Boy recliner. I asked For the Church, and the forums I was back on again to pray for me, and around 6 weeks later it was gone, and still hasn't come back. I hope it never does, but as things continue to wear, I'll be praying again for a miracle. I'll shut up now!! Randy

Bob If you have disability questions and concerns, please ask, as at least 9 of us on this forum have been there, and may be able to advise you, Do get as many Dr.s that have treated you including your family dr. on board. ASAP I was able to get my Disability the 1st time out, but if you read all the various problems I have, I was most likely a shoe in. Caretaker, can tell you some times it takes a long while to get Disability, and I'm sure Mason0366, who has bad back problems, and the others on the forum will chime in, and I and the others will help with your questions, We're not Lawyers, and I think if you add all our collective IQ's together we're about as smart as one.
