I went to my cousin Ricky's today and watched my cousin Dewayne, and Ricky's boy Chris set up a new 6' tall elevated blind. the blind was a 6'x6' box blind. it was a nice piece of work!! He set it up in 5 acres of woods that had been logged back several years ago. He had active salt, and mineral block licks all around where he set up his blind. He's going to help Dewayne build me a truss mount, to put my blind up in the air 8' with a heavy duty steps and hand rails. I can't wait to get it elevated. Until then I'll be doing my best to get the job done with hopefully a nice buck to show for it. I'll take a nice doe or two also!! If you're gonna hunt in one place that's the way to do it. I'd need a closed in platform any higher than 6 feet off the ground that's for sure. We built a tree house about this time last year. The front is about 8 feet off the ground and the rear about 12 -14 feet. It was all I could do to work up there till the sides were up. It would make a perfect deer stand though. Lots of room and they couldn't see in. Plenty of view also.

It`s good that you have a family that hunts and helps you hunt.

They are a awesome bunch of cousins, and Dewayne is closer than my brother is to me, at least most of the time. I couldn't do any of the things I've gotten done without Dewayne, and his boys, my 2nd cousins, and they treat you with respect. They have been raised very well!!
