We got about 3 inches between 6:00am and 6:00pm Saturday. It brought the creek up to the edge of the bank. Another inch or two would have brought it out. Still it's been a while since it rained this hard for this long a time here.

WOW. We didn't have any flooding in our immediate area. I'm sure the low lands around the river are flooded but we haven't been out that way. One evening we had 10" of rain in a little over an hour. Thank Goodness it weren't snow.

no I don't, luckily I sit in the highest part of of a River county, and only live 15 miles from the Mississippi river. and a lot of his tributaries are only 5 to 10 miles from here. If the Mississippi gets out of its banks, all of the bottom land around here floods, including Fulton. My son in law has pics of the last flood in Fulton a few years ago. I'll see if I can get him to make me a cd of it.

I've seen that creek as wide as the Clinch plenty of times. Worse time was right after TVA built a transmission line along the ridge. The springs boiled up mud that spring. The road I live on had two and a half to three feet of water roaring down it and that was just springs causing that. They did a poor job of re-planting cover. I made a trip to Knoxville and their AG's office. Two days later the seed tanker was up there putting down the premium stuff. They should have done it that way to start with.

I`ve seen the creek higher. I remember seeing pictures that i think my brother took where it was over the bridge. I remembe your pappy using his boat to get in and out.

It took out the road I live on one year. That was when it went over his bridge. That was when I was nearly up to my hips in water at my mailbox.

If my house gets flooded you better look for a boatfull of animals. I'm 120' or more up off the valley.

My pappy in law is 80 years old, and has lived here on this farm all of his life. He said He's never seen the water out within 8 miles of the farm, but he worked for the county road dept. and has seen many flooded areas in his job, due to the Muddy Mississippi River, and it's creeks and smaller river like the Obion river flood many home, farms, and a few towns in our area.
