I'm leaving te top windows in, and I'm going to have my son to clean and paint all but one of the panes With the same olive drab base coat, so I can have a place to look out of when I stand and stretch. The other panes and the frames will be painted with the camo scene.

Sounds a lot more comfy that crouched down on a rainy morning in a poncho that's for sure.
I gotta admit one thing though. When I saw it an old song came to mind especially with your thread title. Ode to the Little Brown Shack. That's one nice thing about hunting private land you can have a lot better set up.

My son, son in law,and my cousin is going to help build me a mobile lind on an old S10 Chevy Bed, My plans are to build the blind across the top of the bed using 4x4 as the base, bolted to the top of the bed of the S10 bed, and then use the old pool decking that was taking down off my mom's pool that was taking down last year. The deck will be sawed into size, and laid on top of the base 4x4 framing, with the 2x6" flooring joist, and 1" treated wood, covered over with a 3/8" of plywood, it should be strong enough to handle the load of me, and the sides, and roofing which will be made with a combo of strong roofing metal, that came off my roof, and some old 5v, or corrugated tin that came off my Dad, and Moms old barn. It wont be pretty, but neither is a chevy S10. lol It should look ok after the camo paint is applied to the whole structure.

It will be completed tomorrow, the rain is going to hold off a while after an early morning shower, Dewayne is coming and we're going to get a few supplies in the morning and pic up a last piece of plexiglas. I'm going to have my son painting the exterior of the blind, and when Dewayne gets done with the new windows, He'll be Camo painting the exterior, and Lynn paints the interior with the olive drab paint to help from being spotted on the inside of the blind. I look forward to getting it done and moved to the home I have in mind for it next to the pond in the middle of a tall fescue, and weed patch of grass in front of my foodplots at the fence row, and I'll have a shooting solution for 40 yards to my North, South, East, And West, for my Crossbow. With my Rifle. or Muzzy, I'll have the other food plot to the east of my blind for a 40-100+ yard shot, and south, and west, I'm limited to a 40 yard or less shot. and north, by northwest, I'll have up to a 100-200 yard shot. If I can pull it off. Randy

I never saw a 200 yard shot around here when I was hunting. Too dense.

It will hopefully be finished tomorrow, and I probably should have gotten rid of the other top windows, and that may be a job for next year. lol

As you can see from the above pic, the bottom windows are framed in, and the side window is a litte smaller looking, though it's not. The front window has been resized, and is now 48" wide by 18" tall, the back window will be the same size. The door window will be shortened by 3", to a height of 15" and will still be 36" wide. The windows above will be painted with the same olive drab coat as the entire box blind. I'll keep the center 2 panes of each window unpainted, so I can stand from time to time, and still keep an eye out for my deer.
