I was out with my dad today and he told me Norris rose about 6 feet in the past day. That will put it at 1006 ft level and full pool is at 1022 IIRC. This time of year Norris used to be about 985- 990 or lower. It might be an interesting spring this year up around Sharps Chapel if the levels stay up through the winter.

Yea, Usually this time of year you can walk across the cove down from the cemetery. If not it`s usually not more than a couple feet deep.

Another couple inches of rain would put it up to 1010 pretty fast and we're due some more rain Saturday night. Last time I was up around the cemetery you could walk around the coves pretty good. But it was still way above what used to be normal for this time of year. It's not just Norris. Douglas and Cherokee are up also.

Well for Melton Hill I can understand it. Our creek comes in right below bridge at the jail and Bull Run further down stream as does Beaver Creek. Coal Creek below Norris Dam I'd say was high also. The upper tributaries have some slack to work with but from the headwaters of the Tennessee on down it's almost strictly in and out flow. Maybe a few feet fluctuation can be handled.

I think ponds is what saved our creek the past couple of years till the drought finally broke last winter. What was weird was just 15 air miles north it rained every week in buckets while we were dry.
