ice will stop up the the stern drain so even if you have the plug out it can still fill up with ice, water and snow.
The weight can bow or set a hook in the hull due to the weight on the rollers or bunks of the trailer not to mention when wet wood freezes it will tear the wood apart from the inside out.

Don`t have a boat but it is good advise. Maintaining a boat is a year round process. A lot of damage can occur in winter. Also check the trailer.

The one I use has a tarp completely over it so it's in good shape.
