Where can you get them Kevin, I want something I cn plat to hold them over till spring, when I redo and plant another crop of something. i'll have to do some more research. I was going over to Rural King, and get some kind of peas, for the one plot we ran out of seed before we got to it. I used 72 pounds of seeds on the 3 other plots.

got to watch how you plant there should be listed somewhere so many lb of seeds per area or they fight for nutrients and or crowd each other check with the co-op thats where we order them got to the ag extension office and check up on where and how to plant also check out www.utextension.utk.edu/publications/pbfiles/pb378.pdf

My Daughter office is right next door to the ag extension agent, she is a Family consumer count agent for UK Extension. We probably did it the wrong way, But it was both of our first time doing food plots. I've plowed fields for my dad, my father in law, and now my self, That little tractor doesn't have enough lowering ability on the 3 point hitch. we also have a 1066 International tractor, but we dont have a disk for it, at least right now. I have my cousin Dewayne looking for one that someone wants to sell for scrap iron, and if it looks repairable, and my cousin is very mechanical so he'll Know. My son in law is an ag business degree, and has help farm his family farm since he was a little boy, and he is a mechanic extraordinaire. So he can repair anything we've ever needed. I have access to my county to both ag men, and I'm taking a soil sample to the one my daughter work at, and if I need to lime, We have a small spreader for 3 point hitch. and I'll put some fertilizer on it according to their instruction. It's suuny here right now, so my rain may not happen to day. Randy

Kevin, With this being our first food plot, I know we have probably made some mistakes, but I would do it again in a heartbeat, It was the 1st time in many years that I spent that much time with my son, and I really enjoyed it. Maybe by spring we'll have time to read up more on planting, and seeds per plot, or acre, and I do have plans to read up more, and my daughter is going to bring a core sampler home to take an accurate test of the soil, and said he ag agent, would talk with me, and work on issues, and what to do. Thanks for the Tn exten site Kevin, I'll look at it too. Randy

They was giving us 70% chance of rain here, It didn't happen out here, other than a light sprinkle, I'm not a gardener, or a farmer. How much moisture does those seeds I need to germinate? We still have a 40% chance of scattered showers here today and tomorrow!! Hopefully we'll get some!! My brother in law is a dairy, and they farm around 2000 acres. He may have a water tank I can use to spray a good amount of water on the plots?

I think we received around 10,000 of an inch of rain today out of that 70% chance of rain!! Them birds are going to eat all my wheat and oats!! Randy

Get a barrel punch holes in it. Place on back of tractor or a wagon. Fill with water and go riding around the plot.

There's still 3 more days with 40% chance of showers. if it hasn't rained by Friday, I'm calling my Bro in law, if the seeds aren't starting to sprout.
